Thaddeus Hogarth makes the funk a personal matter on his debut CD
When the Sun Goes Down. Formerly of the explosive Boston groove outfit, the Heavy Metal Horns, Hogarth has had extensive experience with slippery bass-lines and chicken scratching guitar.

Whereas HMH borrowed from super funk groups like Tower of Power and Parliament, Hogarth slows down the bus and takes a turn onto Stevie-lane, waving to neighbors Marvin, Barry, and Bill (Withers) along the way.
Every song is groovy, though some are too long and tend to smooth out the jazz a little too much. Hogarth's cover of Stevie Wonder's political "Big Brother" showcases the delicate nature of his guitar and harmonica playing.

Thaddeus Hogarth's sensitive, soulful croon and sophisticated arrangements should propel him beyond the local scene.
